Latest response to the Coronavirus COVID-19 outbeak (30 June 2020)
Following the announcement made on 23 June by the Government on the reopening of “places of worship” we thought it would be timely to share our current prayers, plans, hopes and thinking.
We have been so encouraged that church has stayed connected since all group meetings in the premises stopped in March, that old connections have been renewed and that new connections have been made. Facebook, You Tube, Zoom, Skype, Teams, WhatsApp and other media have all helped with this connection, but so have the prayers, phone calls, visits, practical help with shopping, collecting prescriptions, surprise goody bags for children and much more have all been a demonstration of church in action and the love of Jesus for one another and community.
Although we do not envisage being able to all meet in our building for a while to come we are planning to make it “COVID Secure” in line with Government guidelines so that it can be used by those Ministries that are predominantly Missional in character. We will be able to share what these are once we have completed our planning.
Sadly COVID-19 will be with us for some while and we envisage the on-line presence continuing, and being built into our ongoing life as a church and, naturally, the invisible network of connection and love that has grown so strong in recent months is part of what being church is about.
Please continue to contact us via email or phone if you have, or know of people with, needs and also with offers of help or if you would like to contact us about the COVID-19 related plans .
I lift my eyes up to the mountains – where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.
