Rowan Williams – Silence and Honey Cakes: The Wisdom of the Desert.
This is a short study about what we can learn from the Desert Fathers and Mothers of 3rd-5th Centuries.
Stephen Cottrell – Christ in the Wilderness: reflecting on the paintings of Stanley Spencer.
Spencer painted a series of pictures in which he imagines Jesus when being tempted in the desert, but tying up with various sayings of Jesus throughout his ministry. They are very powerful but very different. Stephen Cottrell provides meditative thoughts to help study them.
